I would rather have A. Baynes than Allen.  Ray can no longer ply D.  We have enough shooters.  If we can't cat Baynes, I would like us to look at Alonzo Gee. He just go waived by the Kings.  The guy knows our system, can play great d and would give us a back up for Leonard.  I would rather have him than Anderson this Season.  i like Anderson for his passing, but his d is bad and his shooting/scoring is suspect too.  I woudl rather d-league him this year and get Gee bak.

I agree with isaacd3.  I really don't see what the spurs see in ayres.  he is ok on defence, but his shot is horrendous.  Baynes seems like a more complete player.  How longis Ayers contracted for?

Earl Clark just got waived.  I think he woudl be better than Austin Day.  Big Baby is a better than Blair.  Better jumper, better d, but maybe not as good as a rebouner.

Lets just all say a little prayer for the teams health.  We have to be healthy going into the playoffs.  I loved Nea's scoring off the bench, but I think Marco is a better all around player.  Hopefully Marco will know to still guard shooters.......even if there shoe falls off (still mad at Neal for staning in no mans land and letting miller hit that 3 with his shoe off)

Blair hasn't exactly killed it in Dallas.  He is doing the same thing there. It stillcracks me hope that he things the spurs missed out on him.  I think Jeff will be a much better player than Blair. I bet he pays his jewelary bills as well.

I'm fine with our Back up PG situation.  Joseph proved more than serviceable vs the heat and I feel like he is getting better. The big glaring needs is a stopper in the middle.  There just are not many guys available to us.  Maybe a trade scenario would work out later in the year.  I have a feeling Varejo and Gortat may be available at the deadline.  I woudl like either of those guys.  I am not sold on Baynes.  Just seems bad on offense and he doesn't block or alter that many shots or stand out as a rebounder.

Guys have to hit shots when Corey passes to them for it to be an assist.  Plus, that unit looked offensively challenged.  I thought Corey did exactly what he needed to do.

I want to be done with Nando as well, but I am not sure he has any trade value.

1 year, 1 month ago on Report: Mike Bibby, Mickael Pietrus working out for Spurs

Reply

I like tyhe idea of Pietrus. I have been posting that for a while.  Good wing defender, and 31 isnt' that old.  We just need a solid back up for Leonard.  not sure ther is room on the team for Bibby.  I know he wants to be a coach so maybe he could be a locker room presence and not dress.

I think we all know we need an athletic big center, but there just isn't anybody out there that fits that bill.  Fab Melo is available, as he was waived by Memphis, but he lookied horrible in the minutes he played for Boston in the summer leagues.  I hope Pietrus makes the last roster spot.

hoops world is reorting tat with the trade of Caron butler, it is more likely that the suns waive Beasley.  I would love to get him.  Myabe on a winning squad and surrounded by professionals and Pop, he could play to his potential and possibly fall in line.  Probably doubtful that he could lay off the weed though.

Never really wathed this guy play. I know that he has an ugly looking jump shot release. How is he on Defense?  We just need at least one back up sf.  What about Michael Pietrus? Is he too washed up?  Also, Gelebale is available and I thought he was on our radar last year

Not sure why this is an article. YOu don't post every fan's comment on the site..............and since Jack is still unsigned, he is just a fan. He can wear whatever he wants.  He may want to invest in a "I'm my own worst enemy" t-shirt to go with his hat.  I like Jack's game, but he just makes bad decisions.

still think we should take a look at Greg Stiesma and Gelable as they were released from Minnesota.  They might be in our price range but I am not sure.  I would have been happier with Carlos Delfino as opposed to Jeff, but maybe the spurs see something we don't..  Is Leonard our only small forward?

I don't think we can afford AK47 now.  I am surprised that we havn't looked at Carlos Delfino.  Houston cut him to make $ room for Howard.  I would like to see him in the silver and black.  Still need a big as well.  Not sure if we can afford them but Dalembert and Kaman are still out there.

Dick Stockton couldn't even get the player names right.  Also, being on the East Coast, those games didn' end for us until after 1 in the morning. I am a die hard sprurs fan so I stayed up, but the late games could hurt ratings on th east coast. Felt like we stopped attacking Bogut stood in the middle of the paint and dared Diaw and TD to shoot and they missed open jumpers. Couldn't figure out why they didn't take 2 or 3 dribbles in and then take a closer jumper.  Also, SMH at the Parker Barnes match up.  We are making him a star by putting parker and neal on him.  They are not big enough to cover him.  With Steph hurt, parker shoudl be able to deny him the ball andcrowd him on the 3 point line....if he gets a 2 fine, but he wasn't driving as much.  Gren or Leonard on Barnes or Thompson.  I just thik those are better match ups

We didn't play well, but that was the worst call at the end of the game on Leonard when Cole trip on his own feet.  NBATV didn't even show that in the replies.  It this was reversed and Parker tripped and got a phantom call to help beat the heat, it would have been all they would have talked about.  #sternhatesthespursconpiricytheory

I don't want to lose splitter either but we are not going to keep him after this year. Teams always over pay big men. I like this trade. Blair never plays. Losing jack sucks but we have wings now. If we have to part with mills or del colo it is still better for the team. Come playoff time mills and de colo aren't going to see the floor even if they are still spurs. We are spoiled as spurs fans as we are always contenders but it is so hard to get a title. We need to maximize while we can as I don't see Timmy and Manu playing many more years.
