Danny,

Sincerely appreciate the mention, I'm honored.  I've experienced Daniel Hebert's community building and social media immersion first hand, though the company may be new, he's an old pro.

I've always said I could sell anything, but I've never wanted to be in sales. Yet, in reality we're all selling something. For me, when it comes to social platforms, it's so much more than just marketing to or selling to - it's got to be about about having a great product and making it better based on the feedback you're receiving. What does your community want, what do they need and how can you give it to them so the don't just love it, they want everyone else to fall in love with it, too. Communication is key, {internally} across departments inside your company and {externally} with your customers. So it then becomes not just building a better platform, but building solid relationships.

All the best,

Trish | Salesforce Marketing Cloud

That sure would be fun thought we're scheduled to the brim! I haven't a clue how close or far you are from Freddy but  I do know it's much closer than Florida so if there's a chance to meet, I'd love it. :)

The fact the your content may not be shared or commented on doesn't mean your post isn't good or that you're a failure. People are incredibly busy & attention spans seem to be getting shorter and shorter these days. The fact that you've written what was dancing around in your head & had the courage to hit publish, makes you successful already.

Beautifully written. My deepest condolences on the loss of your brother. Spending time with your family, taking care of yourself (and them) and truly living - really taking it all in - each and every day, seems like a wonderful way to honor your brother. Wishing you lots of love & the comfort of kind words from friends & family.

Warmest regards,

Trish

What surprises me is that they've unfollowed people who have consistently promoted them, supported them and their work and helped them get to where they are today. Sad really. @jmitchem

You hit the nail on the head. Clicking on a fan page doesn't take much motivation. However, if someone takes the time to sing your praises across their social outposts then you know that's someone you want to pay attention to. When I take the time to write about a brand that I love or a great experience I've had you'd better believe it was important to me {regardless of how long or short the post}. As people get busier and busier and have shorter attention spans, it's going to be important to differentiate your brand advocates from your fans.
